My Deep Dive into Lana’s WWE Run
Okay, so Lana from WWE popped into my head the other day. Remember her? The Ravishing Russian? I got curious about her whole journey there, not just the highlights everyone knows. So, I decided to actually sit down and watch through some of her stuff again, like a personal project.

First, I pulled up the early days. With Rusev, obviously. Man, that entrance was something else. The whole power suit, the serious look. It worked. She totally sold that character. I watched a bunch of their segments from back then. You could see she had charisma, even just standing ringside or cutting those promos in that accent.
Then things got messy, right? The storyline splits, the weird angles. I specifically looked for matches from when she started wrestling more. Honestly? It was rough at the start. You could tell she was learning on the job, right there on live TV. Some moves looked hesitant, others kinda sloppy. But you gotta give her credit, she kept going.
I spent a good chunk of time watching her singles stuff later on. Remember the tables matches? I watched that run leading up to Nia Jax putting her through the table week after week.
- Checked out the promos from that time.
- Watched the actual matches where she finally fought back.
- Tried to see the progression in her wrestling.
And you know what? There was improvement. Was she Charlotte Flair? No. But did she get better? Yeah, I think so. She seemed more confident in the ring towards the end of her run. She developed some actual moves that looked okay. It felt like she was really trying to make that transition from manager to wrestler work, despite everything.
It’s kinda weird looking back. She had this huge presence early on, then the character shifted so many times. Manager, wrestler, dancer, different relationships on screen. It felt like they never fully committed to one thing for her. Maybe that was the plan, maybe not. But watching it all back-to-back, you see this person constantly adapting, trying to make whatever they gave her work.

So yeah, that was my little project. Just watching and remembering Lana’s time in WWE. It wasn’t about stats or win records, just the performance and the character arc. Definitely a unique run, gotta say that. Lots of ups and downs. Made me think about how careers go in that crazy world.
