Okay, so, I gotta tell you about this disc golf tournament I played in – the “Good Good Midwest Open”. It was a blast, but man, was it a rollercoaster!

It all started with me signing up. I’d been practicing my throws, feeling pretty good, you know? I registered online, paid my entry fee, and started counting down the days. I even watched some videos of past tournaments at the same course to get a feel for the layout. Smart, right?
The day finally arrived, and I packed up my bag with all my favorite discs. I made sure I had my trusty putter, my go-to midrange, and a few drivers for those long shots. I even threw in a couple of extra towels – you never know when you’ll need ’em.
The Tournament Begins!
First round, I was a little nervous. My hands were kinda sweaty, and my first few throws were, well, not great. I bogeyed a couple of holes, which is definitely not how I wanted to start. But then, I took a deep breath, reminded myself to just have fun, and things started to click.
I started hitting my lines better, parking some discs close to the basket for easy putts. I even nailed a long birdie putt on hole 7 – the crowd went wild! (Okay, maybe it was just a few polite claps, but it felt wild to me.)
The second round was much better. I was more relaxed, more in the zone. I played smart, avoided unnecessary risks, and focused on making consistent throws. My putting was on point, and I managed to save par on a few holes where I’d messed up my drive. It was so much fun to see how the practice I put in helped improve my shots from round one.

- Round 1: +5 (Not my best, but I stayed positive!)
- Round 2: +1 (Much better! Feeling good!)
The final results? Well, I didn’t win, but I did way better than I expected! I finished somewhere in the middle of the pack, which, for me, is a huge win. The most important thing is that I improved over the course of the tournament and my score went down in the second round. Overall I feel really good about my placing.
I learned a lot, met some cool people, and had a fantastic time. That’s what it’s all about, right? Now, I’m already looking forward to the next tournament. Gotta keep practicing!
