I started clicking through the images, looking for that iconic shot. I saw a few different ones:

  • One from 1945, apparently when he first signed with the Brooklyn Dodgers. That’s the historical moment everyone talks about.
  • Then there’s another one from 1952. He’s in the Dodger’s offices at Ebbets Field, with Leo Durocher and Charlie Dressen.

I also found a mention of a contract he signed for $35,000 a year – big bucks back then, I guess! It was supposedly the highest-paying contract in the Dodgers’ history at the time.

After I found the photos, I saved them to my computer. I wanted to keep these for my collection of historical moments. I mean, this is history right here!

Next, I started organizing my findings. I created a new folder on my desktop named “Jackie Robinson” and put all the images in there. I also copied and pasted some of the info I found into a text document, just so I wouldn’t forget the details.
