Alright, let’s talk about this here New York Yankees fitted hat, the red one. You know, the one all the young folks are wearin’ these days.
I seen ’em around, all fancy-like. Folks callin’ it a “fitted” hat. Back in my day, a hat was a hat. You just put it on your head, and if it fit, it fit. No fancy names or nothin’. But these young’uns, they like their special words.

I heard tell you can buy these hats all over the place. They say you can get ’em online too. “Fanatics” they call it, and “MLB Shop.” Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me. Back in my day, you went to the store, picked out a hat, and paid for it. Now, you clickity-clack on that computer thingy, and poof, a hat shows up at your door. Imagine that!

I saw one fella wearin’ one the other day. Looked like he was about 20 or so. Had that hat pulled down low over his eyes. Walkin’ with a swagger, like he owned the place. Made me chuckle a bit. A hat can do that to ya, I suppose. Make ya feel like you’re somebody special.
They say these “fitted” hats are real popular. Lots of folks buyin’ ‘em. New Era, that’s another name I keep hearin’. They make all kinds of hats, not just the Yankees ones. But the red Yankees hat, that’s the one everyone wants.
I even heard tell you can get ‘em on somethin’ called “eBay.” Said you can bid on ‘em, like an auction. People payin’ good money for these hats, too. More than I’d ever pay for a hat, that’s for sure. But to each their own, I always say.
Some of them hats are “adjustable,” they say. Means you can make ‘em fit your head, no matter how big or small. That’s somethin’ at least. Nothin’ worse than a hat that’s too tight or too loose. Gives ya a headache, or falls right off your head when you’re tryin’ to work.
And they got different sizes too. You gotta know your head size, they say. Never measured my head in my life. Just put a hat on, and if it stayed on, it was good enough for me. But these young folks, they like to be precise.
You can even get ‘em delivered, they say. Right to your door. No need to go to the store at all. Imagine that! Back in my day, you walked miles to get what you needed. Now, it just shows up on your doorstep. Times sure have changed.
So, this red New York Yankees fitted hat, it’s more than just a hat, I reckon. It’s a fashion statement, a way to show your support for a team, or maybe just a way to keep the sun out of your eyes. Whatever the reason, folks seem to like ’em. And that’s good enough for me. It ain’t my cup of tea, but if it makes folks happy, then more power to ’em. It’s a free country, after all. You wear what you want to wear. And if that’s a bright red Yankees hat, well, go right ahead.
I tell you what though, that red sure is somethin’. Catches your eye right away. Maybe that’s why folks like it so much. Stands out in a crowd, you know? Makes you feel like you’re part of somethin’ bigger than yourself. Or maybe it just keeps the sun outta your eyes. Either way, it’s a hat. And a hat’s a hat, no matter how fancy you make it sound.
And they say you can get ’em for around $35, sometimes even cheaper if you’re lucky. That’s a lot of money for a hat, if you ask me, but like I said, folks these days, they spend their money on all sorts of things.
