Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today, I wanna share my little adventure of tracking Tiger Woods’ score at the Masters. You know, just a regular guy trying to keep up with a legend.
So, the 2024 Masters was happening, and like many of you, I was pumped to see Tiger in action. I mean, the guy’s going for his sixth green jacket – that’s insane! First thing I did was to try and figure out when he’s teeing off. Found out his tee time for Round 3 was 12:45 p.m. ET, playing alongside Tyrrell Hatton.
Then I started digging for scores. I saw that he started strong on Thursday with a birdie on the first hole. Haven’t seen that since ’99! It was like a good omen, you know? That got me even more hyped.
But man, Saturday was rough. I kept refreshing the updates, and it just wasn’t looking good. He ended up with an 82 – that’s like, his worst round ever in a major. I couldn’t believe it. He’s Tiger Woods, you know? But then, that’s golf for you, I guess. Super unpredictable.
Sunday rolled around, and I was still glued to my screen. He shot a 77, which was a bit better than Saturday, but still. He finished at 16-over par, dead last. 60th place. It was tough to watch, not gonna lie.
I read somewhere that this was his 100th round at the Masters. 100th! Can you believe that? And it turned out to be his highest 72-hole score ever, a 304. It’s just wild to think about. What a career!
Honestly, I was bummed. I really wanted him to do well. But hey, it’s Tiger. He’s given us so many incredible moments over the years. This one tournament doesn’t change that. What did you guys think of his performance? Let me know in the comments.
