Alright, folks, gather around, I’ve got a story for you. It all started when I decided to catch a game at the Innovative Field. You know, just a regular day, thought I’d enjoy some baseball. But boy, was I in for a surprise!
So, I packed my usual stuff – wallet, keys, phone, the essentials. I usually carry a small backpack, nothing fancy, just enough to hold my stuff. But as I approached the entrance, I saw a sign that read “Innovative Field Bag Policy.” Hmm, interesting, I thought, let’s see what this is all about.
I started reading through the policy, and let me tell you, it was quite the read. It said that all bags are subject to security inspection, which is fair enough. But then it went on about the types of bags allowed. No backpacks, no briefcases. Well, there goes my trusty little backpack.
- Clear bags only, and they can’t be bigger than 12″x12″ with no more than two pockets.
- The only exception was a small, non-clear bag, but get this – it had to be smaller than 4.5″ x 6.5″. I mean, what can you even fit in there?
I looked at my backpack, then at the sign, and back at my backpack again. I had a decision to make. Leave my bag behind and risk losing all my stuff, or miss the game altogether? Neither option seemed great.
I decided to talk to the security personnel. Maybe they could offer some clarity, or perhaps a storage locker. I explained my situation, hoping for a reasonable solution, but alas, they were quite firm on the policy. No on-site storage, they said. Tough luck.
So, with a heavy heart, I made my way back to my car, stashed my backpack, and grabbed only the bare essentials – my phone and wallet. I felt naked without my usual gear, but hey, at least I wouldn’t miss the game.
I headed back to the entrance, feeling a bit lighter but also a tad annoyed. I went through the security check, this time with no issues, and finally made it into the stadium.
The game was great, I must admit. But throughout, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of being unprepared. What if I needed something that was in my backpack? What if I dropped my phone and it got trampled on?
Lessons Learned
This whole experience taught me a valuable lesson – always check the bag policy beforehand! It’s a simple step that can save you a lot of hassle and ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience.
And to the folks at Innovative Field, maybe it’s time to reconsider that bag policy? Or at least provide some on-site storage options. Just a thought.
