Okay, so I wanted to catch up on what’s been going on with Rory McIlroy today. It’s become a bit of a routine, you know, checking in on the big names in golf.

My Usual Process
First thing, I grabbed my tablet while having my morning coffee. Didn’t feel like firing up the big computer just for this. I unlocked it and kinda stared at the screen for a second, thinking where to start.
Usually, I just pop open a web browser. That’s what I did. Went straight to my favorite search engine, the one everyone uses.
Typed in the simple stuff: ‘Rory McIlroy news’ or sometimes ‘Rory McIlroy latest’. Didn’t need to get fancy with it.
Then you hit enter and boom, a whole list of stuff pops up. Always a mix, right? Some official sports news places, some blogs, sometimes the golf tour’s own site.
Sifting Through It All
So, I started scrolling. You see the headlines, trying to figure out what’s new and what’s just rehashed old stuff or somebody’s opinion piece. It’s a bit of a filter job.

- Skipped past a couple that looked like clickbait. You can usually tell.
- Looked for familiar site names I trust, like the big sports networks or dedicated golf news outlets.
- Opened a couple of articles in new tabs.
I spent maybe five or ten minutes just reading the first paragraphs, getting the gist. Checked the dates too, made sure it was actually today’s news or from yesterday.
Sometimes I also check a specific sports app I have on my tablet. It often has push notifications, but I find just opening it and heading to the golf section is quicker if I’m looking for something specific like Rory news.</ Did that too, just a quick scan.
Finding What I Needed
It wasn’t too hard today. Found a few reports about his prep for the next tournament and some quotes from a recent interview. Nothing earth-shattering, but it satisfied my curiosity.
It’s funny, this whole process. Back in the day, you’d have to wait for the newspaper or catch the sports segment on the evening news. Now it’s instant, but you have to wade through so much more information, or sometimes misinformation. Takes a different kind of effort.
Anyway, got the updates I was looking for. Mission accomplished for my Rory check-in. Now I know what’s up, at least for today.
