So I stumbled upon this thing called “FF14 Heardle” today, and let me tell you, it’s a trip down memory lane for any Final Fantasy XIV fan.
Basically, it’s like that Wordle game, but instead of guessing words, you’re guessing songs from the FFXIV soundtrack. You get these little snippets of a song, and you have to figure out which one it is.
I decided to give it a go. I mean, how hard could it be? I’ve sunk countless hours into that game.
The first snippet played, a measly one second long. I listened, and I was immediately stumped. Nothing. Blank. I had no freakin’ clue.
- I listened to the one-second clip again. Still nothing.
- I started typing in random song names that popped into my head. “Shadowbringers”? Nope. “Dragonsong”? Nada.
- I kept going through the increasing audio snippets length. More wrong.
- I’ve played this game for years.
- I should know this.
I was getting frustrated. I thought I knew these songs like the back of my hand, but here I was, failing miserably.
Then it happened, and I got a seven-second snippet. The melody kicked in, and it finally clicked. It was “To the Edge”! A wave of relief washed over me, followed by a surge of pride.
It felt good, you know? Like I’d conquered some great beast.
A Nice Little Brain Teaser
This FF14 Heardle thing, it’s a nice little brain teaser. It really tests your knowledge of the game’s music, and it’s a fun way to kill some time. I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re an FFXIV fan. Just be prepared to be humbled, maybe.
I’m gonna keep playing it, see if I can get better. Maybe I’ll even recognize those one-second clips someday. Who knows? Anyway, that’s my little adventure with FF14 Heardle. It was a frustrating but ultimately rewarding experience. A bit of a rollercoaster, really.
