Okay, so today I wanted to try something different, something I saw online called “basketball pearl.” I’d never heard of it, but it looked cool, so I jumped right in.

Getting Started
First, I needed to gather my materials. Turns out, all I needed was:
- A basketball (I used an old one I had lying around)
- Some freshwater pearls (I picked these up at a local craft store)
- Super glue (anything strong should work)
- A small bowl for organize
The Messy Part
Once I had everything, I started by laying down some newspaper because I knew this was going to get messy. I poured the pearls I to a bowl and put a little at a time. Then, one by one, I started gluing the pearls onto the basketball.
Honestly, this took way longer than I expected. I started with a random pattern, just sticking them wherever, but then I realized it might look better if I tried to follow the lines on the basketball. So, I spent a good chunk of time just gluing and placing, gluing and placing.
The Final Result
After what felt like forever, I finally finished! It actually turned out pretty cool. The basketball is completely covered in pearls, and it has this weird, shimmery texture now. It’s definitely not something you can play with anymore, but it looks neat as a decoration.
Would I do it again? Maybe. It was a fun little project, but it was definitely time-consuming. If you’re looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon, and you’ve got some patience, give it a try! Just be prepared to get your hands a little * organized the pearls.
