My Dive into the RIC Baseball Roster
Alright, so I got this urge the other day to look up the Rhode Island College baseball roster. Don’t ask me why, sometimes you just get curious about the local teams, you know? Maybe see if there are any familiar names or hometowns on there.
So, the first step was pretty obvious. I just opened up my browser and typed in something like ‘Rhode Island College baseball team roster’. Simple enough, right? You’d think.
Got a bunch of results back. Some news articles, some general college stuff. I clicked on what looked like the official RIC athletics page. Navigating those college websites can sometimes feel like a maze, honestly. Took me a couple of tries, clicking through ‘Sports’, then ‘Baseball’, then finally found a ‘Roster’ link. Success!
Finding the Actual List
There it was. A page listing out all the players. It had the usual stuff:
- Player Name
- Position
- Year (like Freshman, Sophomore)
- Height, Weight maybe
- Hometown
It looked pretty standard. Seemed reasonably up-to-date, which is always good. Sometimes these things are ancient.
Putting it Somewhere Useful (for me, anyway)
Just looking at it on the webpage wasn’t quite enough for what I had in mind. I kinda wanted to mess around with the data, maybe sort it differently, or just have it handy offline. So, I decided to copy it over.
You know how copy-pasting from web pages can be? Yeah, it was a bit like that. Formatting got weird. Had to spend some time cleaning it up in a basic spreadsheet. Fixing spacing, making sure columns lined up. Wasn’t rocket science, just a bit tedious. Had to manually adjust a few things here and there.
All Sorted Now
Took maybe 15-20 minutes, but I got it all cleaned up and organized in my sheet. Now I have a nice, simple list of the RIC baseball guys. It was a pretty straightforward process overall, just involved a little bit of digging and then some tidying up of the data. Nothing too crazy, but mission accomplished. Got the roster sorted like I wanted.
