Okay, so the other day I was digging through some old boxes in my attic, and I came across a bunch of my old sports cards. I used to collect these things like crazy when I was a kid. Anyway, I found a few Herschel Walker cards in there, and I got curious about what they might be worth today.
First, I tried to remember what I actually had. There was this one from 1987, a Topps, I think. Then another one from 1988, which was a sticker. I also found a Kenner Starting Lineup card, and a Panini sticker. I wasn’t even sure if any of these were worth anything.
So, I started by just looking them up online. I simply put in “Herschel Walker card value” in the search bar and hoped for the best. I found some websites that list card prices.
- I saw that the 1987 Topps card was only going for around $0.20. Not exactly a fortune.
- The 1988 Panini sticker was similar, at about $0.27.
- The 1988 Kenner Starting Lineup card was a little better, around $2.02.
I also tried searching for recent sales of these cards on some auction sites. Seemed like the best way to get an idea of real-world prices. I browsed through completed listings. Also, I found some other sites where collectors buy and sell cards, I saw listings for all kinds of Herschel Walker cards, even some autographed ones!
Honestly, the prices were all over the place. It seems like it really depends on the specific card, the condition it’s in, and whether or not it’s been professionally graded. Some of those graded cards were going for a lot more than the ungraded ones.
In the end, it looks like my little collection isn’t going to make me rich. But it was a fun trip down memory lane, and it was cool to see that some of these cards are actually worth something to collectors. I might even try to sell a couple of them, just for fun.
But I guess I could have done a better job taking care of these cards when I was younger. Now they are just lying around collecting dust.
