My Dive into Phil Beckner’s Twitter Feed
Okay, so I kept hearing the name Phil Beckner pop up here and there, mostly connected to some high-level players. You know how it is, you hear a name enough times, you get curious. My first thought was, what’s this guy actually sharing? Is it all hype, or is there something solid there? So, I decided the easiest place to start digging was probably Twitter.

Fired up the app, typed his name into the search bar. Pretty straightforward, found his profile easily enough. First thing I did was just scroll. You gotta get a feel for what someone’s feed is like, right? Didn’t want to just jump on the first tweet. I spent a good chunk of time just reading through older posts, going back a few weeks, maybe even months. Just trying to see the pattern.
What did I find? Well, a lot of basketball stuff, obviously. But it wasn’t just random thoughts. Lots of drill breakdowns, sometimes with little video clips which are super helpful. He often talks about the mindset stuff too, not just the physical mechanics. Things like focus, dealing with pressure, the work ethic required. It wasn’t overly complicated, which I appreciated. Just direct points, things you could actually think about applying.
I saw posts about:
- Shooting techniques, small details.
- Footwork drills, basic but important.
- Mental approach to training and games.
- Sometimes just observations about the game.
Did I try anything specific? Yeah, there was this one little tweak he mentioned about hand placement on the shot. Nothing revolutionary, you know, but explained in a simple way. So, next time I was messing around shooting hoops, I consciously thought about it. Just focused on that one detail he’d tweeted about. Can’t say it magically made me a superstar overnight, haha, but it definitely made me more aware of my own habits. That’s the thing, sometimes just seeing someone else articulate a concept clearly makes you re-evaluate your own stuff.
So, my whole process was basically: hear the name, get curious, search on Twitter, scroll through the feed to get a vibe, pick out a few interesting points or drills, and then actually think about them or try one out when I got the chance. It wasn’t some deep, analytical study, just a practical look at what he’s putting out there. Found some useful nuggets, for sure. It’s less about finding secret plays and more about those consistent, fundamental reminders and the mindset behind them. Worth the look, I’d say.
