Okay, so I got into Marvel’s Midnight Suns and pretty quickly decided, yeah, I’m going for all the trophies on this one. Looked like a lot, but I figured, why not? Seemed like my kind of game anyway.

First thing I did was just play the story, get a feel for things. The card combat system took a bit to click, not gonna lie. Felt kinda weird mixing cards with tactics. But I got there. Spent a ton of time just running around the Abbey grounds between missions. You know, talking to everyone, trying to figure out who liked what gifts. That friendship stuff seemed super important right from the start, so I made that a priority. Explored every nook and cranny of that Abbey too, picking up collectibles and reagents.
Getting Down to Business
After the main story beats settled down a bit, I started looking closer at the trophy list. Some were straightforward, like finish the story chapters, obviously. Others needed more focus.
Here’s what took some real effort:
- Friendship Levels: Man, getting everyone to level 5 friendship was a grind. Lots of Hangouts, finding the perfect gifts, complimenting them during dialogues. I kept a little note on who liked what. Daily sparring helped a lot too, easy points there.
- Combat Stuff: Some trophies needed specific combat actions. Like getting a bunch of KOs with environmental objects. Had to really look for opportunities in missions, sometimes passing up a quicker win just to knock a guy into an exploding barrel or whatever. Using specific hero abilities over and over also took time. I basically picked a team for grinding certain ability trophies and just ran general missions.
- Challenges: Those Hero Challenges needed for the legendary abilities and costumes… some were tricky. Had to really think about the card plays, sometimes trying them over and over until I got the sequence right.
- Research & Abbey Upgrades: Making sure I researched everything and built all the Abbey upgrades took a while. Needed tons of resources, which meant more general missions.
The Final Push
Towards the end, it was mostly clean-up. I had a few combat trophies left, like using certain abilities a set number of times. I just made sure to put those heroes on my team for every mission until the trophies popped. Checking the Hunter’s journal thing helped track some of the collectible progress too, which was useful.
I think the very last one for me was related to completing all the different types of general missions. Just had to keep cycling through them until the right one showed up.

When that final trophy notification appeared, felt pretty good. It was a long haul, definitely sunk a lot of hours into it. Exploring the Abbey and messing with the team compositions was fun. The grind for friendship and some combat stuff got a bit repetitive, but hey, that’s trophy hunting sometimes, right? Got it done. Solid game, glad I stuck with it for the platinum.
