Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show 24 lately, and there’s this one thing that’s been bugging me. I kept seeing this little crown icon next to some players’ names and I was like, “What the heck does that even mean?”
At first, I thought maybe it was for players who won the Triple Crown or something fancy like that. But then I started noticing it during Spring Training, and I was like, “Nah, that can’t be it.”
So, I did what any normal person would do – I went on a little research. I mean, you can find manuals for each platform, right? PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, you name it. But they didn’t help me at all.
Then I started digging around in the game’s menus and walkthroughs. The game has a Diamond Dynasty mode, a Franchise mode, Road to the Show, and they have some tips and tricks, but none of them mentioned anything about the crown icon.
Then it hit me. I remembered reading somewhere that there are a bunch of different symbols in this game. I had seen some symbols before, like the “R” symbol next to a player means he’s a rookie. So, I figured this crown thing must be important too. I went to check some forums. I started looking through old posts and even older guides, going back to MLB The Show 14. There were many questions like mine but not many answers.
Finally, after what felt like hours of searching, I found it! In a dark corner of the internet, someone finally explained what that crown icon means.
Turns out, it’s actually pretty simple. The crown just means that the player is the current leader in a specific stat category. You know, like the most home runs, the best batting average, the most strikeouts, things like that. I felt a little dumb for not figuring it out sooner, but hey, at least now I know, right?
- It’s not about the Triple Crown.
- It’s not just for Spring Training.
- It means the player is the best at something right now.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the crown icon in MLB The Show 24. I hope this helps someone else out there who might be wondering the same thing. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go try to get some more crowns for my players!
