Hey everyone, I wanna talk about my recent experience getting to know the TPC Southwind course. I’ve been planning a golf trip to Memphis, and this course is definitely on the list. So, I started digging around to get a better understanding of what I’m in for.
First, I searched around for some info about this course. I noticed that it is a part of the Tournament Players Club, seems like a pretty big deal. Also, it’s in a gated community called Southwind, about a half-hour drive from downtown Memphis. Sounds fancy, right?
Then, I found some basic information about the course, and I got that it was built on an old dairy farm. Cool, huh? It’s a par-70 course and is about 7,244 yards long. Designed by some guy named Ron Prichard.
Next up, I wanted to see the course layout. I found an interactive map, and it was awesome. It had everything I needed, like an aerial view of each hole and the GPS distance. I spent quite some time just clicking through each hole, trying to imagine myself playing there. Man, some of those holes look tricky!
I also noticed some comments online saying that the course is pretty tough but still fun to play. People mentioned that the fairways and greens are well-maintained, which is always a plus. Some folks also said the staff there could give you some tips, so I’ll keep that in mind when I’m there.
- Checked out the interactive map online.
- Got a good look at each hole from above.
- Noted the GPS distances for planning shots.
After going through the map, I printed out some yardage charts. I like to have a paper copy with me when I play. It’s just easier to jot down notes and keep track of things.
So, that’s my progress so far. I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on what to expect at TPC Southwind. Now, I just gotta work on my swing before the trip! I’m really looking forward to playing there, and I’ll definitely share my actual golfing experience once I’ve been there.
