Alright, so let me tell you about this “masters merchandise 2023” thing I messed around with. It wasn’t some official deal or anything, just a personal project, you know?

The Idea: I’m a big golf fan, always have been. And the Masters Tournament? It’s the pinnacle. So, I thought, why not try designing some “unofficial” merch, just for kicks?
First Steps: Research, duh! I spent a solid week just browsing existing Masters merch, looking at color schemes, logos, fonts – the whole shebang. I wanted to get a feel for the “Masters aesthetic” without straight-up copying anything, obviously. Scouring the internet, old tournament programs, anything I could get my hands on.
Then Came the Designs: This is where things got interesting. I’m no graphic design guru, but I can fumble around in a program like Canva. Started with some simple stuff: A t-shirt design with a stylized map of Augusta National. Another one with a quote from Bobby Jones. Nothing too crazy.
Here’s a list of the things I mocked up:
- T-shirts (obviously)
- Hats (gotta have hats)
- Coffee mugs (essential)
- Golf towels (for the serious golfer)
- Even a phone case, just for the heck of it
Finding a Printing Partner: Okay, designs were done (or at least, “done enough”). Next step was figuring out how to actually get these things printed. I didn’t want to invest in a bunch of equipment, so I looked into print-on-demand services. Found a few decent options online, compared prices and turnaround times, and went with one that seemed reliable.

The “Storefront”: I wasn’t trying to make a fortune here, so I didn’t bother with a fancy e-commerce platform. Just slapped together a simple landing page with photos of the designs and links to the print-on-demand service. Basically, if someone really wanted one, they could order it.
Marketing (Sort Of): I tossed a couple of photos on my social media – nothing aggressive, just a “hey, check this out” kind of vibe. Surprisingly, a few friends and family members actually bought stuff! I was honestly shocked.
What I Learned: This whole thing was way more work than I anticipated. Design takes time, even for simple stuff. And figuring out the printing and fulfillment logistics? A headache. But it was a fun learning experience.
The Outcome: Did I get rich? Nope. Did I create the next must-have Masters merch? Absolutely not. But I had a blast, learned a few things, and ended up with a pretty cool golf towel. That’s a win in my book.
So, yeah, that’s the story of my “masters merchandise 2023” adventure. A little silly, a little ambitious, but ultimately, a fun side project.
