Well now, let me tell ya about this whole CTE Brady roast business. Seems like everybody’s talkin’ about it, and not just folks from the fancy cities, but even them from the little towns where folks don’t know much ’bout big-time football stuff. CTE, or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, that’s a big ol’ fancy word for somethin’ that happens when a person’s head gets knocked around too much, like what happens to football players after years of playin’ that rough game. Now, Tom Brady, he’s the big name everyone knows, he’s been all over the place with his fancy career and, well, he even had himself a roast on Netflix! Ain’t that somethin’?
So, this here roast—well, let me tell ya, it wasn’t just a little chuckle here and there. No, no. They really went to town on ol’ Tom Brady. They made jokes ‘bout all sorts of things. I reckon if you don’t know what a roast is, it’s where folks sit around and poke fun at ya, make fun of yer life, yer mistakes, your ex-wife, all that stuff. And Brady, well, he’s been through a whole lotta things, from the Deflategate to his split with that fancy model lady, Gisele Bündchen. But one thing they really dug into was this whole thing about CTE.
Now, folks started makin’ jokes about Brady’s head gettin’ knocked around so much in his career, y’know, ‘cause he’s been takin’ hits from other big ol’ football players for years. Some of them jokers even said that Brady might’ve got some brain damage, what with all them blows to the head. Can you imagine that? Making jokes ‘bout someone’s brain not working right? Sounds harsh, don’t it? But that’s what this roast is all about, poking fun at everything, no matter how tough it is.
But I reckon there’s a serious side to all this too. This CTE thing, it’s been a big worry for football players, especially those who been in the game a long time. Now, don’t get me wrong, football’s a great sport, folks love it, but when you get hit in the head too many times, it can cause all sorts of problems later on in life. Some of these players even think they might have it, even though you can’t really know ‘til they gone and passed away. Ain’t that somethin’?
There was this study done, and it showed that about one-third of former NFL players think they’ve got CTE. That’s a whole lotta folks! That’s a lot of hit heads, I tell ya. It’s a scary thought, thinkin’ that these players might end up with some kind of brain trouble just ‘cause they played a game they loved. It’s hard to imagine what it’d be like to have that kind of burden on yer mind, especially when you’ve been a star player like Brady.
Now, Brady, he didn’t take none of them jokes too seriously, or at least he didn’t let on that he did. He’s a tough cookie, that one. Got paid a whole lotta money for that roast—about 25 million dollars, can you believe that? I mean, it’s one thing to get poked fun at, but to get paid all that money to let folks roast ya? That’s a whole different level of crazy, if ya ask me. And to top it off, they even gave him a big ol’ diamond-studded ring, worth 40 grand! Ain’t that somethin’? I’d take a roast and a fancy ring any day if it meant I could walk away with a nice chunk of change.
But all this talk about CTE, and them jokers making fun of Brady’s brain, it really brings up somethin’ more important, don’t it? Like, what’s the future of football gonna look like? Is it worth all the hits to the head? I mean, them players are gettin’ paid big bucks, sure, but what about when they retire and start havin’ trouble thinkin’ straight or rememberin’ things? That’s a real problem, ain’t it?
So, yeah, that CTE Brady roast was a big ol’ mix of jokes and serious talk, and it really makes ya think about the whole football world in a different way. You can laugh all you want, but them players might be payin’ a price for all the glory they get. I reckon they might want to start thinkin’ ‘bout their futures a little more careful like, ‘cause you can’t always fix a brain after it’s been knocked around too much.
