Okay, so I’ve been meaning to watch the 2004 US Open for a while now. It’s one of those classic tournaments that everyone talks about, right? And I finally got around to doing it today.
First, I had to find a way to watch it. I did some searching and it wasn’t easy to find it. After some digging, I managed to find some footage.
The Search Begins
I started by, you know, just Googling it. Typed in “2004 US Open Golf” and browsed through the results. I clicked on a few, but nothing really had what I was looking for.
Digging Deeper
So, I got a little more specific. I started looking for highlights, specific rounds, maybe even player interviews from back then. I spent a good chunk of time doing this, like maybe an hour or so, just browsing and browsing.
Finally, Some Footage!
Eventually, I found a few videos that had some decent footage. It wasn’t the whole thing, but it was enough to get a good sense of what went down at Shinnecock Hills that year. I made some coffee, got comfortable on the couch, and started watching.
Watching the Action
- Retief Goosen won, which I kind of already knew, but it was cool to see how it all played out.
- Phil Mickelson was right there, too, and it was a real nail-biter toward the end. I was on the edge of my seat, even though I knew the outcome!
- The course looked brutal. Super tough greens, you know? The kind that makes even the pros look like they’re struggling.
I watched a few hours of footage, just soaking it all in. It was awesome to see those guys battling it out, especially with that crazy wind and those insane greens. It was really fascinating and I can understand why people still talk about it.
After watching, I felt like I had a way better understanding of why the 2004 US Open is considered such a classic. It wasn’t just about who won, but also how they won, and the crazy conditions they had to deal with.
It was a good day of watching golf. Definitely worth the effort to find the footage. It’s easy to see why it is a classic and why people are still talking about it.
