Okay, so I was totally stumped by this crossword clue today: “highly excited.” I mean, there are a ton of words that could mean that, right? My mind was racing.

Brainstorming Time
First, I grabbed a piece of paper and started jotting down anything that came to mind.
- Excited
- Thrilled
- Elated
- Pumped
- Fired up
I tried fitting a few of these into the crossword, but nothing was working. The number of letters just wasn’t right. Ugh, frustrating!
Thinking Outside the Box
Then, I thought, maybe it’s not a super common word. Maybe it’s something a little more…out there. So, I started thinking about synonyms that were a bit more intense than just “excited.”
The “Aha!” Moment
And then it hit me! What about “agitated?” I know, it sounds weird.
Because most of time “agitated” means “upset”.

But in some situation, “agitated” also can represent “highly excited”, right?
I counted the letters – perfect fit! I slotted it into the crossword, and boom, it worked!
I love that feeling when you finally crack a tough clue. It’s like a little mental victory. Anyway, just wanted to share my little crossword adventure from today. You never know where inspiration will strike!
