Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with this new putter, the Cobra Vintage Stingray. Let me tell you, it’s been quite the experience. First off, I saw it online and thought, “Why not give it a shot?” So, I ordered one. The unboxing was pretty standard, nothing too fancy, just the putter in a box.
Now, getting it out on the green, that’s where things got interesting. I started practicing my putting, you know, just trying to get a feel for it. It’s got this oversized mallet shape, which I wasn’t used to, but it felt surprisingly balanced. I played around with my grip, tried a few different stances, and started to get the hang of it.
Here’s what I did:
- Tried different grips.
- Experimented with stances.
- Practiced short putts.
- Worked on longer putts.
After a few hours, I could tell this putter was different. My short putts were more consistent, which was a big deal for me. But the long putts, that’s where I really saw an improvement. I was sinking more long putts than I ever had before, and let me tell you, it felt great.
I also noticed that the single sightline really helped with my alignment. It was easier to get the ball lined up with the hole, which is half the battle, right? Then I brought some different balls, and I tried the old ones and the new ones. They were making some differences.
The Results
So, what’s the verdict? Well, after spending a good amount of time with the Cobra Vintage Stingray, I can say it’s definitely improved my putting. I’m feeling more confident on the green, and my scores have been showing it. It’s not a magic wand or anything, but it’s a solid club that’s helped me step up my game.
If you’re in the market for a new putter, and you like that oversized mallet style, I’d say give the Stingray a look. It might just be what you need to take your putting to the next level. I did feel it was not that cheap, but you get what you pay for, right? Oh, I got the single bend hosel one, so if you are into straight stroke you may want to try it, too. But you know, everyone’s got their own thing, so what works for me might not work for you. Just keep that in mind.
