Okay, here’s my take on the “Jaleel McLaughlin or Rhamondre Stevenson” fantasy football dilemma, written in a casual, personal blog style:

Alright, so last week I was staring at my fantasy lineup, totally stumped. It was one of those classic “who do I start?” situations. My running back slots were a mess, and I had Jaleel McLaughlin and Rhamondre Stevenson both kinda… lukewarm on my bench.
First, I looked at Stevenson. He’s been, you know, okay. Not setting the world on fire, but not totally tanking either. The Patriots’ offense, well, let’s just say it hasn’t been exactly explosive this year. I checked his recent game logs – a few decent carries, a couple of catches, but no touchdowns in, like, forever. It felt like a low ceiling, low floor kind of situation.
Then, I started digging into McLaughlin. He’s the new kid, right? Undrafted, comes out of nowhere, and suddenly he’s getting some touches in Denver. I watched some highlights (because, of course, I did). The guy’s fast. Like, seriously quick. He had a couple of games where he ripped off some big gains. The problem? Inconsistency. One game he’s looking like a star, the next he’s barely getting the ball.
The Decision Process
I went back and forth, back and forth. I even asked the group chat – got a bunch of mixed opinions (shocker!). Some people were hyping up McLaughlin’s “upside,” others were saying Stevenson was the “safe” play. Ugh.
- looked at their average points per game.
- looked at their snap counts from the last few weeks. More snaps usually mean more opportunities, right?
- checked the injury reports.
Finally I decided,McLaughlin has the higher ceiling.

Did it pay off? Kinda… sorta… not really. He didn’t have a terrible game, but he didn’t exactly explode either. Stevenson did about the same. So, basically, I flipped a coin and it landed on its edge. Typical fantasy football life, huh?
The lesson here? I don’t even know anymore. Maybe trust your gut? Maybe flip an actual coin? Maybe just accept that fantasy football is mostly luck disguised as skill? Whatever it is, I’m already dreading my next lineup decision.
