Okay, so, I tried out this thing called the NFL Mock Draft Simulator today. Let me tell you, it’s pretty addictive. Basically, it’s a tool that lets you play the role of a general manager for an NFL team during the draft. Sounds fun, right? It is!
First, I jumped onto the website where they have this simulator. It’s pretty straightforward. You pick a team you want to manage, and then you’re in control of their draft picks.
- I chose the Patriots because, well, they’ve got the top pick in this year’s draft.
- The system then presents you with a list of all the players available in the draft.
Next, the simulator starts running through each round of the draft. When it’s your team’s turn to pick, you get to select a player from the list. But it’s not just about picking whoever you like best. You gotta think about your team’s needs, the player’s positions, and their ratings and you can find the draftted player chart.
The coolest part, though, is the trading. You can make offers to other teams to trade your picks. I spent a good chunk of time trying to work out some deals, moving up and down the draft order. It felt like being in a real-life war room! It’s really tricky to know what’s a good trade, which teams are likely to take which players, and so on. But that’s what makes it so engaging.
Realism
This Mockout Sim Engine thing, it claims to be super realistic. It goes through all seven rounds of the draft, and it says it uses some advanced logic to make the trades feel real. I don’t know about all that, but it did seem pretty convincing to me.
After you finish your draft, you can see how you did. The simulator will probably give you a grade or something, but I mostly just wanted to see which players I ended up with. There’s also usually a comments section where people share their drafts and debate who got the best players.
All in all, it was a fun way to kill some time and get hyped for the actual NFL draft. If you’re into football and like the idea of playing GM, you should definitely check it out.
