Okay, so I’ve been wanting a Pelicans baseball jersey for a while now. I’m a huge baseball fan, and I also love the Pelicans (NBA, of course, but hey, a cool jersey is a cool jersey). I finally decided to just go for it and make my own. Here’s how I did it.

The Hunt for the Base
First things first, I needed a plain baseball jersey. I didn’t want anything fancy, just a simple white one, preferably button-down. I checked out a few local sporting goods stores, but no luck – everything was either branded with a team logo or way too expensive. So I hopped online.
I looked at some online shops, finally I got what I wanted!
Getting the Pelicans Touch
Next up was making this plain jersey a Pelicans jersey. This is where it got a little crafty. I decided to go with a combination of iron-on transfers and fabric markers.
- The Logo: I found a decent-resolution Pelicans logo online. I made it the right size and then printed it onto iron-on transfer paper. This stuff can be a little tricky, so I made sure to follow the instructions on the package very carefully. I ironed it onto the front left chest area, where a baseball team logo usually goes.
- The Name and Number: This was a bit trickier. I wanted it to look like a real jersey, with that arched nameplate and the number below. I ended up doing this. I printed out the letters and numbers, then ironed them one by * takes long time but it works.
The Final Touches
Once everything was ironed on, I let it cool completely. Then I went over some of the edges of the letters and numbers with a fabric marker, just to give it a bit more of a finished look, and to help secure the edges a little better. I also used the dark blue marker to add some simple stripes down the sides of the jersey, just to give it a little extra something.
And that’s pretty much it! It’s not perfect, of course – a professional custom job would probably look a lot cleaner. But for a DIY project, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s definitely unique, and it lets me rep both my love for baseball and the Pelicans. I even wore it to a local baseball game the other day, and got a few compliments! It’s a fun conversation starter, that’s for sure.

I do the whole thing by myself, I think it is cool, it is fun for me.
