I gotta tell you, I spent my whole afternoon just messing around with the old Panthers logo, and man, it was a trip down memory lane!
First off, I had to dig up that old logo. I swear, it felt like searching for a needle in a digital haystack. I scoured the internet, browsing through all sorts of websites and forums. Finally, I struck gold and found a decent-quality version of it.
Get the picture and try to enhance it
- I downloaded the image and opened it up in my trusty old image editor.
- The resolution was pretty low, so I tried a few different ways to enhance it.
- I tried upscaling the image, but it got pretty fuzzy.
- Then I tried using a denoise filter to smooth things out a bit. It helped somewhat, but still didn’t give me the clarity I was hoping for.
Vectorize it
Then, I remembered, “Hey, why not try to vectorize this thing?” So I fired up my vector graphics editor.
- I imported the old logo image as a guide.
- Then, I started tracing over the image with the pen tool. It was kind of painstaking, but also weirdly satisfying. I had to manually recreate all the lines and curves.
- I spent like, maybe two hours straight, just tracing and tweaking. There were a lot of sharp corners and curves in that logo, so I had to pay extra close attention to the details.
Polishing
Once I was happy with the basic shape, I started to fine-tune it.
- I adjusted the curves and anchor points to make sure everything was smooth and precise.
- I filled in the shapes with the right colors. That was pretty easy, luckily there were not many colors in this old logo.
- And added a few finishing touches here and there, just to clean things up.
Finally, after all that work, I had a crisp, clean, vector version of the old Panthers logo! It was like seeing an old friend in a brand new light. Now I can use it for all sorts of things, like printing it on a T-shirt or making a sticker. Pretty cool, right?
Man, this project really took me back. It’s amazing how much a simple logo can hold so many memories. Anyway, I just wanted to share my little adventure with you all. Hope you enjoyed it!
