Hey you guys, listen up! Today, I wanna talk about that Nick Bosa fella, you know, the football guy. More specifically, that helmet he wears. That big ol’ thing on his head. See, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it down at the market, sayin’ it’s somethin’ special. Now, I don’t know much ’bout football, but I know a thing or two ’bout keepin’ your noggin safe. And that’s important, especially for a young fella like him, runnin’ around and crashin’ into folks like that, could make your teeth chatter.
So, this Nick Bosa’s helmet, they say it’s not like them old ones. Them hard plastic ones, you know? This one’s got somethin’ called, uh, “compressible plates.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say these plates, they’re on the outside of the helmet, and they help stop them concussions. You know, when you get your bell rung real bad, that’s a concussion. Nasty business, that is. So these plates are supposed to be the most effective at preventing concussions.

Now, I heard ’bout another kind of helmet too, called “VICIS.” Sounds like a vegetable. But anywho, this VICIS helmet, it’s different. It’s got a soft shell, not a hard one. And they say it has “local deformation,” well, that sounds like something my old bones got. But I guess for the helmet, it means when it gets hit, that spot kinda gives in a little, you know? Like cushion, to soften the blow. Them old hard helmets, they don’t do that. They just, like, bounce the hit right back. I guess that’s not good for the brains.
They say that Nick Bosa, he plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Big team, I reckon. He’s a defensive end. I don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds like he’s gotta be tough. And if he’s wearin’ one of these new-fangled helmets, that’s good. Means he’s takin’ care of himself. Or maybe someone’s lookin’ out for him, makin’ sure he’s got the best gear. That’s important, you know. You only get one head, gotta protect it. He’s probably got people depending on him, a whole family, that’s a good reason to wear a good helmet.
I remember back in my day, them football fellas, they just wore leather helmets. No fancy plates or soft shells. Just leather. And they got their bells rung plenty, I tell ya. Lots of ’em ended up with scrambled eggs for brains. Not good, not good at all. This Nick Bosa’s helmet, though, it sounds like a real step up. Progress, they call it. I guess that’s a good thing. These young folks today, they got it easier than we did.
But here’s something that got me riled up. I heard some folks whisperin’ that this Nick Bosa fella, he showed off a hat after a game. A “Make America Great Again” hat. Now, I ain’t one to get into politics, but that caused quite a stir, I tell ya. Some folks were mad, sayin’ he shouldn’t be wearin’ that. Others, they didn’t mind. Me? I just think folks should keep their politics to themselves, especially when they’re playin’ a game. Just my two cents.
This Nick Bosa’s helmet is important, yeah, it will keep him safe. But his hat, people talk a lot about that. That MAGA hat. I don’t know much about politics, but that hat, it gets people talkin’.

So, that’s what I heard ’bout that Nick Bosa’s helmet. It’s a good helmet, a safe helmet. Keeps them football players from gettin’ their brains rattled too much. And that hat he wore, well, that’s a whole other story. People have strong feelings about those kinds of things. Best to keep that separate from football, that’s what I think. But, you know, folks are gonna talk, no matter what. That’s just how it is. That’s the way of the world, I suppose. They talk about the helmet, they talk about the hat, talk, talk, talk. Important thing is to keep that head safe, that is important. Football is a tough game, very tough. I wouldn’t want to play. Too much hittin’.
