Okay, so lemme tell you about this thing I was messing with the other day – the Bahamas basketball roster for 2023. It’s not like I’m a huge basketball fanatic or anything, but a buddy of mine was talking about it, and I got curious.

First thing I did was just Google it, right? “bahamas basketball roster 2023”. Simple as that. Got a bunch of links, mostly sports news sites and stuff. Started clicking around to see what I could find.
A lot of the sites were just regurgitating the same info, you know? Like, who the big names were, any recent games they played, and all that jazz. It was cool, but I wanted to dig a little deeper. I wanted to see the actual roster, like, the whole team with their positions and maybe some stats if I could find ’em.
So, I tried another search, this time being more specific. I added “official roster” to my search terms. Bingo! Found a couple of sites that looked promising. One was a site that seemed to be dedicated to international basketball. Scrolled down, found the Bahamas team, and bam! There it was – the whole roster.
Now, what I really wanted to do was get that data into something I could play around with. So, I copied the roster info into a spreadsheet. It was a pain in the butt ’cause it wasn’t formatted nicely. Had to spend a good 20 minutes cleaning it up, separating names from positions, and trying to find more info on each player.
Then the fun started.

I started looking at the different players, checking out their stats from previous games if I could find ’em. It was cool to see who was playing where, who the key players were, and how they all fit together as a team. I even looked up some YouTube clips of them playing. Some of these guys are seriously good!
- I checked out their height and weight.
- Then I looked at their past performance and game statistics.
- Finally, I compared them with other international teams.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just nerding out on basketball stats. Didn’t really accomplish anything groundbreaking, but it was a fun way to kill some time and learn something new. Plus, now I can actually hold a conversation with my buddy about the Bahamas basketball team without sounding like a total idiot.
All in all, it was a pretty chill little project. Just goes to show you can find some interesting stuff if you’re willing to do a little digging. Maybe next time I’ll try to predict their performance in the next tournament – that’d be a real challenge!
