Alright, let’s talk about hunting down some of those special enemies in Wuthering Waves. I needed some specific materials, you know how it is, gotta upgrade the good stuff. I could’ve just looked up a guide online, sure, but where’s the fun in that? I figured I’d track ’em down myself, make it a bit of an adventure.

So, I started off just checking the main map, looking for any weird icons or areas that looked kinda suspicious. Didn’t find much specific right away, just the usual markers. My first thought was to head towards those really jagged mountains you can see from Jinzhou. Figured tough guys like hanging out in tough spots. Spent a good hour climbing and gliding around up there. Found some decent chests, but not the big baddies I was after. Got into a few scraps with regular mobs, nothing major.
Next, I remembered some deep caves I’d stumbled into earlier, down in the Dim Forest region. Seemed like a good hiding spot. Went back there and started exploring deeper. It was pretty dark, kinda creepy. Ran into a few ambushes, got knocked around a bit by some of those fast-moving shadow creatures. Still no jackpot, though. I was starting to get a little annoyed, thinking maybe I should just look it up.
But then, I started noticing a pattern. Some areas just felt more dangerous. Near that huge collapsed bridge over the canyon in the Dim Forest, I kept seeing patrols of those heavily armored mech things. And then, bam! There it was. A massive, glowing version of them. Let’s call it the Havoc Dreadmane type. It wasn’t marked or anything, just stomping around its territory. Tough fight, used up a lot of my food, but I got the materials I needed from it. Felt pretty good.
After that success, I got my second wind. I decided to check out the Tiger’s Maw Mine area next. Heard it was dangerous. Went there during the day, cleared out some riff-raff. But then I came back at night, just on a hunch. And yeah, different vibe. Found these really irritating, teleporting phantom enemies – the Specters or whatever they’re called. They were phasing in and out near the ruined buildings. Super annoying to fight, but they dropped some unique stuff too.
My Rough Log of Spots
So, after a couple of days just exploring and fighting, here’s where I had the most luck finding these tougher variants:

- That big Havoc Dreadmane thing hangs out near the broken giant bridge in the Dim Forest. Seems to respawn after a day or so.
- The annoying teleporting Specters mostly showed up for me in the ruins of Tiger’s Maw Mine, but mainly when it got dark.
- Found a massive rock turtle beast, like a Stonehide Guardian, basking on a lonely plateau way out in the Whining Aix’s Mire. You gotta climb a bit to get there.
- There was another tough one, a sort of flying serpent thing, circling the very top of that massive tree structure in the Emerald Plains. Took me ages to figure out how to get high enough to fight it properly.
Honestly, it took a while. Lots of running around, getting lost, and occasionally getting flattened. But finding them this way, just by exploring and paying attention? Way more satisfying than following dots on a map someone else made. Just poke around the weirder-looking spots on the map, especially places that are a pain to get to. You’ll probably stumble onto them eventually. Good luck out there.
