Stuff like “Love Hurts,” “All You Need is Love,” “Love Connection,” maybe even “Tough Love.” Some were okay, some felt kinda cheesy, even for a Packers fan.
Then I moved onto other players. For Aaron Jones, maybe something like “Keeping Up With the Joneses” or “Jonesing for a Win.” Christian Watson? “Elementary, My Dear Watson” came to mind instantly. Dillon? “Dillon My Quota.” You just sort of mash names with common phrases or pop culture things.
I spent a bit just saying potential names out loud. Does it roll off the tongue? Is it too long? Is it actually funny or just dumb? This part is important, sometimes what looks good written down sounds terrible.

I looked at this shorter list. “Love Actually Kills You” felt a bit dark maybe? “Watson The Case” was okay. “Jayden Reed Between The Lines” was a bit long but kind of clever for the rookie. “Quadfather” is always solid if you have Dillon. “The Love Shack” felt fun and tied into the new QB.
Making the Call
Ultimately, picking the name is just a gut feeling thing. You just gotta pick one that makes you chuckle or feels right for your team vibe. I bounced a couple off my buddy who’s also in the league. He thought “The Love Shack” was pretty good. Simple, kinda funny, relevant to the big team change.
So yeah, that was my process. Started broad with team themes and players, brainstormed a bunch of puns, filtered out the weak ones, said ’em out loud, and finally landed on one that felt decent for the 2023 season. It’s not rocket science, just gotta put in a little thought and have fun with it.
