Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show lately, and one thing that always gets me hooked is tinkering with the roster ratings. It’s like, you get to play God with your favorite (and least favorite) players. Let me walk you through what I did today.

Getting Started
First, I fired up the game and headed straight to the roster section. You know, the place where all the magic happens. My goal was simple: I wanted to beef up some of my underperforming players and, well, maybe nerf a few guys on rival teams. Just a little bit, for “research” purposes, of course.
Diving into the Details
Once I was in the roster editor, I started scrolling through the players. I was mainly looking at their hitting and pitching attributes. You know, things like contact, power, velocity, and control. Stuff that really makes a difference in the game.
- I bumped up the contact and power for a couple of my favorite hitters who seemed to be striking out a bit too much lately. I mean, it’s my game, I can do what I want, right?
- Then, I took a look at some pitchers. I increased the velocity for one of my relievers who’s been getting shelled a bit. Just trying to give him a fighting chance out there.
- And yeah, I admit it, I lowered some attributes for a few players on teams I’m not too fond of. Don’t judge me! It’s all in good fun.
Testing It Out
After making all my tweaks, I jumped into a quick exhibition game to see how things felt. It’s one thing to adjust the numbers, but it’s another to see how it actually plays out on the field.
And let tell you the diffrence is tangible! My “new” team is playing very differently.
Honestly, messing with roster ratings is one of my favorite things to do in MLB The Show. It adds a whole new layer of customization and lets you really tailor the game to your liking. Just remember, with great power comes great responsibility… or something like that. Anyway, go have some fun with it!
