Alright, so I wanted to mess around with the batting stances in MLB The Show 22, specifically the legend stances. I’ve always been a huge fan of trying to replicate the look and feel of classic players, so I figured, why not dive in and see what I could do?

First thing I did was fire up the game and head straight to the “Create Player” mode. I mean, that’s where all the customization magic happens, right?
Once I was in there, I went to the “Edit Player” section, and picked a random player to start messing with. It doesn’t really matter who you choose, as long as it’s a batter. You can alter the name later, but it made sense to go ahead, get in there, and change stuff right away.
Then came the important part: batting stance. I scrolled through the options, and there it was – a whole section dedicated to “Legend Stances”. Bingo!
- I clicked on that, and boom, a massive list of legendary players popped up. We’re talking everyone from Babe Ruth to Ken Griffey Jr. to Hank Aaron The Great, it was awesome.
- I started experimenting, trying out different stances for my created player. Seeing my guy mimicking the swings of some of the all-time greats was pretty cool.
- I spent a good chunk of time just going through the list, seeing how each stance looked and felt. Some were smooth, others were more herky-jerky, but each one was unique.
Getting it Just Right
It wasn’t just about picking a stance and calling it a day, though. I wanted to get it as close as possible, from the appearance to the stance and swing.
I tweaked the little details – hand position, foot placement, the way the bat was held. It took some time, but I eventually got it looking pretty darn close to the real deal, and I was able to get my player’s batting average way up using the batting stance of one of the greats.

So yeah, that’s how I spent my afternoon – geeking out over legendary batting stances in MLB The Show 22. It might seem like a small thing, but for a baseball nerd like me, it was a blast. I’m glad the developers put it in there, and it was a fun time for me.
