Well, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout the Milwaukee Brewers playin’ against the Philadelphia Phillies. Seems like them baseball teams is always battlin’ it out. This old lady don’t know much ’bout all them fancy stats, but I reckon it’s important to them that plays and them that watches. Some say checkin’ them stats is like readin’ tea leaves, tells ya who’s gonna win.
So, I hear these Brewers and Phillies, they went head-to-head a few times this year. The Brewers, they only won a couple against the Phillies, I reckon. Numbers like 2-4, that’s what they sayin’. Two wins, four losses, sounds like the Phillies got the upper hand this season. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout no tags, but they say that’s important for somethin’ too.
And I heard somethin’ ’bout a game back in September. September 17th, I think it was. They say you gotta look at the “box score” for that one. Sounds like somethin’ you’d put your jewelry in, but I guess it’s all the numbers and what-not from the game. They was playin’ in a place called Citizens Bank Park. Fancy name for a baseball field, ain’t it?
Now, they got all these numbers, like AB, R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI. Don’t ask me what they all mean! Some fella was sayin’ somethin’ ’bout a game on June 4, 2024. That’s a long ways off, ain’t it? Must be one of them games that already happened, I guess. Seems like these teams played a bunch of games already, somethin’ they call last 10 games. And all these letters and numbers, AB, R, H… it’s all a jumble to me.
They say this fella, Alec Bohm, he’s pretty good. Got a high somethin’ or other, “slugging percentage” they call it. Sounds painful, don’t it? He’s got a .481, whatever that means. And somethin’ ’bout a batting average, 14th in the big leagues, they say. Sounds like he’s doin’ alright for himself.
These Phillies, they won more games, I hear. Somethin’ like 73 games, and the Brewers won 50. And then they got these other numbers, “Total Runs” and “PPG”. One’s got 567, the other’s got 483. I don’t know what that means, but I reckon more is better in this case. Maybe it’s like how many pies they ate, and the Phillies ate more.
Now this one fella, Jake Bauers, he did somethin’ special in the ninth inning, they say. Hit a single, and it won the game for the Brewers. I guess even when you’re down, you can still come back. Somethin’ ’bout the Cubs losin’ too, and that helped the Brewers. It’s all very confusin’.
I heard somethin about a game on June 1, where they was sayin’ somethin’ about live coverage, scoring, and stats. I guess folks like to know all the details right when it’s happenin’.
- Phillies got the tiebreaker over the Brewers. 91-60 for the Phillies, 87-64 for the Brewers.
- They sayin’ it’s important for the playoffs.
- “We needed a win here for sure,” that’s what someone said.
- I guess winnin’ is always important, ain’t it?
I tell ya, this baseball, it’s a lot to keep track of. All these Milwaukee Brewers vs Philadelphia Phillies stats. Who won, who lost, who hit what, and when. But I guess it’s important to some folks. They like to know all the ins and outs, all the numbers. Me, I’d rather just watch the game and enjoy the sunshine. But hey, to each their own, right?
I don’t know, this old brain gets tired tryin’ to figure it all out. I reckon it’s like plantin’ seeds. You gotta know when to plant, what to plant, and how much rain you need. These player stats, they’re like the seeds, and the game is like the harvest. You gotta know all the little details to get a good crop. Or somethin’ like that. These young folks and their numbers.
I just hope everyone has a good time, win or lose. That’s what really matters, ain’t it? Enjoyin’ the game, bein’ with friends and family. All these Milwaukee Brewers and Phillies stats, they don’t mean much if you ain’t havin’ fun.
