Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into this whole Michael Pittman Jr. thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a ride. I wanted to figure out what the deal was with his projections for the 2024 NFL season, and boy, did I get into it.

Like, there was this one game against the New York Giants where he scored 16.9 fantasy points, which was his season-high. Nine receptions, not bad, right? But then, in Week 18, he only caught 6 out of 10 targets for 72 yards. It got me thinking, what will the next season be like for him?
So, I started checking out these projection sites. I found a bunch of different ones, but the one from numberFire caught my eye. They use some fancy quantitative analysis stuff, or something like that. It looks pretty legit.
I also looked at a site called PFN, which had its own set of projections. They had this consensus projection thing that seemed pretty reliable. I cross-referenced it with a few other places, and it seemed to match up pretty well. I like it when numbers match!
After looking at all this data, I even came up with my own projections. Yeah, I know, I’m not a professional analyst or anything, but it was fun to do. In my totally amateur, just-for-fun projection, I figured Pittman would end up as the WR15. I estimated he’d catch around 106 balls for 1,167 yards and maybe 7 touchdowns. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
The main thing I learned from this whole experience is that projections are, well, just projections. They’re educated guesses, based on past performance and a bunch of other factors. It’s not an exact science, you know? But it’s still pretty cool to see how people try to predict these things.
