Okay, so today I wanted to compare the stats between Mexico and Ecuador national football teams. It’s something I’ve been curious about for a while, and I finally decided to just sit down and figure it out.

First, I needed to find a good source of information. I mean, I could just Google around, but I wanted something reliable, you know? Like, not just some random blog post. So, I started by checking out a few well-known sports websites.
Gathering the Data
I started gathering every bit of data I could find. This is where most of the time went, honestly.
I basically built my own table from scratch, jotting down information. Here’s how my process went:
- Wins for Mexico: I went through match records and tallied up all of Mexico’s wins against Ecuador.
- Wins for Ecuador: Same thing, but counting Ecuador’s wins.
- Draws: I also made sure to count the matches that ended in a draw.
- Goals For: I counted the total goals scored by each team in their head-to-head matches.
- Goals Against: And, of course, the total goals each team had conceded to the other.
It was a bit tedious, flipping back and forth between different pages and making sure I didn’t double-count anything. Double, triple-checking every number. I put all the information into a simple table on a notepad.
After I felt pretty confident that I had a good grasp of the head-to-head records, it was satisfying to see the data come together. Building things from the ground up always feels rewarding, you know? Simple and it works just right.
