Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post in the style you described, focusing on drawing Kiké Hernández:

Alright, so today I wanted to try something different, drawing Kiké Hernández. I’m no pro artist, but it sounded like fun. I’m a huge Dodgers fan, and Kiké’s energy is just infectious. So, why not?
First, I grabbed my sketchbook. It is nothing fancy, just a regular one I picked up. Then, I got a few pencils – a 2B for sketching, a 4B for some shading, and a mechanical pencil for those little details.
Getting Started
I started by, you know, finding a good picture of Kiké. I scrolled through some game photos online and found one where he’s smiling, mid-laugh – that’s the Kiké I wanted to capture. I didn’t want to overcomplicate it. No fancy poses, just him being himself.
Then I lightly sketched the basic shapes. His head, his shoulders, that kind of stuff. It looked pretty rough at first, just a bunch of circles and lines, But it’s all about getting the proportions right, you know?
Building it Up
- I focused on his face next. His eyes, his nose, that big grin. It took a few tries to get his smile just right. It is the most important part!
- Next, I started adding in some details, like his hair, his beard. I’m not gonna lie, the beard was a bit tricky. Lots of little lines.
- Then I lightly shaded. I paid close attention to where the light was hitting in the picture. I tried to make sure to add a lot of shadows around his smiling face, to capture it.
Finishing Touches
I went back and forth, adding more shading, erasing some lines, redrawing bits here and there. It’s all part of the process, I guess. It’s not perfect, but it definitely looks like Kiké! It’s a bit cartoonish, which is fine by me. It captures his playful spirit, I think.

I spent maybe an hour or two on it, total. It was a fun little project. Maybe I’ll try drawing another player next time. Mookie Betts, perhaps? Or maybe I’ll stick to landscapes. Who knows!
