I’ve always been a huge fan of the NBA, and one player that’s really caught my attention recently is Luka Doncic. I mean, the guy’s skills are insane, right? But aside from his amazing performance on the court, I’ve always been curious about something totally random – his eye color.
So, I decided to find out. First, I tried to find some clues from what I already knew about him. He plays for the Dallas Mavericks, and I remember watching a game where he scored, like, 30 points. What a beast! He has got 79th career triple-double. He’s got this tiger tattoo on his left forearm, which I think is pretty cool. It’s supposed to symbolize freedom and pride, which makes sense given how he plays.
Then I just did a quick search online. Found some stuff about how he used to wear No.7 but switched to No.77 for the Mavericks to show respect for some player named Spanoulis, who was apparently his idol. There was also something about him being named to the All-NBA First Team when he was just 21! I did see some clips of his games and interviews on the NBA Europe YouTube channel. He was amazing!
But none of this was getting me closer to his eye color. I figured I’d just have to look at some pictures.

- Zoomed in real close on his eyes.
- Compared a bunch of different pictures to make sure the lighting wasn’t playing tricks on me.
It was pretty clear once I did all that. Luka Doncic has blue eyes. They’re not super bright blue, but definitely a noticeable blue. Mystery solved! It’s funny how you can get curious about the smallest details, even with famous athletes.
This whole thing was just a bit of fun for me. I guess it shows how much I admire Luka, not just for his basketball skills but also just as a person.
