Okay, so I stumbled upon this “heredity crossword” thing today, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?” I mean, I vaguely remember stuff about genes and traits from, like, high school biology, but that was a long time ago. Let’s see how I do with it.

Getting Started
First things first, I needed to find the actual crossword. I just did a search on “heredity crossword” and plenty of options popped up. I picked one that looked not super hard and not too easy, something in the middle you know.
The Process
I printed the crossword out – yeah, I’m old school like that. I like to have a physical copy to scribble on. I grabbed a pencil and started going through the clues.
- Some of them were pretty straightforward. Like, there was one that was obviously “gene” – the basic unit of heredity, right?
- Others were a little trickier. I had to really think back to those dusty old memories of biology class. Stuff about dominant and recessive traits, genotypes and phenotypes… it was all kind of fuzzy.
- I am going to use google when I really stuck. Searching things like “the physical expression of genes” to get hints and jog my memory. It’s not cheating, it’s “research”, right?
The Struggle is Real
I’m not gonna lie, there were a few clues that totally stumped me. I stared at them for ages, wracking my brain, trying to remember anything at all. It started to feel a bit like an exam! I definitely used the internet to find the definitions of related vocabulary for help, haha.
The “Aha!” Moments
But then, there were those moments of “Aha!” When I finally figured out a clue, it was such a satisfying feeling. Like, “Oh yeah, I do remember that!” It’s kind of like a little mental victory.
The End Result
So, after some head-scratching, some “research”, and a few lucky guesses, I actually managed to finish the whole crossword! I was pretty surprised, honestly. I’m not saying I got everything 100% correct, but I filled in all the blanks, and I think most of them are right. At least a solid B+, let’s just say, haha.

It was a fun little exercise, in a way, it made me realize that I actually do remember more about heredity than I thought. Although, I might need to brush up on my Punnett squares… that’s a whole other can of worms!
