Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, channeling my inner “mature, practical blogger” and following all your instructions (especially the informal, slightly rough-around-the-edges tone, and the focus on verbs and personal experience).

Alright, so I decided to dive deep into Azucena’s moves in Tekken 8. I’ve been messing around with her, and man, she’s got some interesting stuff. Let me tell you about my process of figuring her out.
First thing I did? Booted up the game, obviously. Went straight into practice mode. I always start there. No point jumping into ranked matches until you’ve got a feel for the character, right?
Getting a Feel for the Basics
I started by just moving her around. You know, dashing, back-dashing, sidestepping. Just to see how she felt. Her movement is pretty fluid, I gotta say. She’s got some nice flow to her.
Then, I started throwing out some basic punches and kicks. Just the 1, 2, 3, 4 buttons, you know? Seeing how they chained together. What felt natural, what felt a bit clunky. I spent a good while just getting the timing down on those basic strings.
Digging into the Command List
Next up, the real work began. I opened up the command list in the menu. Man, it’s always a bit overwhelming at first, all those inputs and symbols. But I took it slow, one move at a time.

- I started with the simple stuff. Forward + punch, down + kick, that kind of thing.
- I tried each move a bunch of times. Really focused on getting the timing right. Tekken can be picky, you know?
- I experimented. I tried to see how different moves could link together. Like, could I follow up that launcher with a combo? What about after a wall splat?
Her Stance…The Liberator!
The thing I noticed most is her special stances moves, man I am telling you it is so good, after I practice the combo from it, I can win all the games in the morning.
And I spent a good chunk of time just trying to figure out the best ways to use it. I tried all I learned in command list and I win.
Putting It All Together
After a few hours of grinding in practice mode, I felt like I had a decent handle on Azucena’s basic moveset. I still had a long way to go before I could say I “mastered” her, but I felt comfortable enough to take her online.
And that’s what I did. I jumped into some ranked matches. Got my butt kicked a few times, naturally. But I also managed to pull off some of those combos I’d been practicing. It felt good. It’s always satisfying when the practice pays off, you know?

So, that’s my Azucena journey so far. Still learning, still experimenting, still getting my butt kicked sometimes. But that’s Tekken, right? It’s a grind, but it’s a fun grind. Keep practicing, keep experimenting, and you’ll get there. I am, you can too!
