Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this idea for a while now, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m talking about creating my own WWE match card. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, just for fun, you know?
First, I started to think about what I wanted. I wanted to do it right. Then I began to check out what official events were going on. I found that WWE is taping the December 23 episode of RAW. Cool, but I wanted something different. Then I saw they were gearing up for the December 13, 2024, episode of SmackDown. Also cool, but still not what I was looking for.
Then I remembered that they are celebrating 10 years of the New Day on Raw. That got me thinking about anniversaries and special events. But I wanted to create something totally new, something that hadn’t been done before. So, I started to look up some unique events and that was what I needed.
I stumbled upon some info about the Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s happening in Long Island, New York, and it’s a big deal because it’s the first one in 16 years! It has some big match, like Undisputed WWE champion Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens, and I think this is the one I like to start with.
Then I looked at some other famous match types, like the Royal Rumble, which was created by Pat Patterson. I also read about the Money in the Bank ladder match. It can have anywhere from 5 to 10 people, and the goal is to grab a briefcase hanging 20 feet above the ring. And it was only for male wrestlers until 2017, which is interesting.
So, after gathering all this info, I started to work on the main event. The headliner is a clash between two titans. I decided to start with the Saturday Night’s Main Event format, featuring a dream match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. I jotted down some ideas for the undercard, too. I thought about including a mix of different match types. Maybe a tag team match to kick things off, a women’s championship bout, and of course, a ladder match because those are always crazy exciting.
I spent a few days working on it, switching things around, and imagining how each match would play out. I even thought about some storylines and rivalries that could make the matches even more intense.
My Imaginary WWE Match Card
- Opening Match: A high-energy tag team match to get the crowd pumped. I pictured The New Day going up against another popular team.
- Second Match: A women’s championship match. I thought about having a really great match with the champion.
- Mid-Card Match: A ladder match for a future title shot. This one would be wild, with lots of high-flying action and crazy spots.
- Main Event: Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens. This would be the big one, the match everyone’s been waiting for. I imagined it as a hard-hitting, back-and-forth battle, with both guys giving it their all.
After I finished writing everything down, I felt pretty good. It was a lot of fun to create my own WWE match card, even if it was just for myself. It made me appreciate the work that goes into planning these events even more. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll get to see some of these matches happen for real!
