Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… what’s her name? Lana, yeah, Lana from that wrestling show. My grandkids watch it all the time, so I’ve seen her a bit. Don’t know much about wrestling, mind you, but I can tell you what I see.
First off, they say she’s some kinda “evil Russian.” Evil Russian, huh? Sounds like somethin’ outta an old movie. But she don’t look so evil to me. Just a pretty girl with a funny accent, if you ask me. But they made a big deal outta her bein’ Russian, I guess. Made her stand out, y’know?
- This Paul Heyman fella, they say he really liked her. Thought she could be a big star, a “cornerstone” they called it. Big plans for her, he had. Guess things didn’t quite work out like that, did they?
- She’s been on TV for a long time, this Lana girl. Since, what, 2013? That’s a long time to be wrestlin’ or whatever it is they do. And her character, they say it changed a lot over the years. Gimmick, they call it. Like a costume, I guess. She had to change it up, keep things interestin’.
They also say she had some big matches, on somethin’ called “Raw” and “TLC.” Don’t ask me what that means. Sounds like a bunch of noise to me. But people seemed to like watchin’ her, so I guess she was doin’ somethin’ right. And her real name, they say it’s CJ Perry. Lana’s just for TV, y’know, like a stage name.
They got videos of her, too. Highlights, they call ’em. Just the best parts, I guess. Interviews, too. She talks about stuff, I dunno, wrestling stuff. And matches, of course. Lots of fightin’ and yellin’. And “promos” they call ’em. Guess that’s where they talk trash to each other, try to get folks riled up.
Lana’s greatest moments in WWE, they say. Well, I don’t know about all that. But I remember seein’ her wrestle with this other fella, her husband I think. Rusev, they called him. Big fella. They wrestled together, and sometimes against each other, I think. Confusin’ stuff, this wrestlin’.
And speaking of Rusev, they say they ain’t together no more. Split up, after seven years of bein’ married. That’s a shame, ain’t it? Seems like a nice couple, even if they did fight a lot on TV. But that’s just for show, I guess. Real life’s different.
She also wrestled with other folks, this Miz fella and some lady named Asuka. And lost, it seems. Not every fight goes your way, I reckon. That’s life, ain’t it? Win some, lose some.
They say she went to another wrestling place after WWE, somethin’ called AEW. But she didn’t stay there long, got let go. Tough business, this wrestlin’. One day you’re up, the next you’re down. And now she’s on Smackdown, they say. Another one of those wrestling shows. Seems like she’s been all over the place.
So, that’s what I know about Lana. Not much, I admit. But she seems like a tough girl, this Lana. Made a name for herself in this wrestlin’ world. Good for her, I say. It ain’t easy bein’ a woman in this world, let alone a “WWE Smackdown superstar.” Takes guts, I reckon.
And all that “evil Russian” stuff? Just a story, I guess. Like them soap operas my daughter watches. Full of drama and nonsense. But it keeps folks entertained, don’t it? And that’s the point, I suppose.
So, there you have it. My take on Lana. Not much, maybe, but it’s honest. Just an old lady’s perspective, y’know?
