Okay, so I’ve been looking into getting a new lawn tractor, and the John Deere 102 kept popping up. I mean, John Deere, right? They’re like the king of lawn care. But I wanted to see what the deal was with the price, so I started digging around.
First Steps
First thing I did was check out a few online retailers just to get a general feel. And let me tell you, the prices were all over the place. Some places had it listed for what seemed like a decent price, others were way higher. It was tough to get a handle on what a fair price actually was.
Getting Down to Business
Then I started hitting up some local dealers. I figured talking to someone in person might give me a better idea. I called a couple of places, and the prices they quoted were, well, also all over the place, but generally in line with what I’d seen online. One guy was super helpful, walked me through all the features, but his price was a little steep. Another place was more bare-bones, but their price was lower. It was like, do I want the bells and whistles or just the basic machine?
- Called dealer A: They were friendly, knowledgeable, but the price was on the higher end.
- Called dealer B: Less info, but a lower price. Tough choices!
Digging Deeper
After that, I decided to check out some forums and online communities. I wanted to see what other folks had paid and if they thought it was worth it. I found a bunch of threads where people were talking about their experiences. It was good to see real people talking about the tractor, not just ads, you know? Some people got great deals, others felt like they might have overpaid. Just goes to show you gotta do your research.
The Results
So, after all that digging, what did I learn? Well, the John Deere 102 price can really vary. It depends on where you buy it, what features you get, and probably even the time of year. I found that it generally goes for somewhere in the middle of all those high and low prices I initially saw, but there are definitely deals to be had if you’re willing to shop around and maybe negotiate a little. I’m still on the fence about whether I’ll pull the trigger, but at least now I have a much better idea of what to expect price-wise.
I’ll keep you guys posted if I actually buy one!
