Alright, let’s talk about this Jazz Chisholm fella and his contract, you know, the baseball player. Folks been yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d put in my two cents, even though I don’t know beans about fancy contracts or baseball stuff. But I can tell ya what I heard, and it sounds like a whole lotta money to me.
So, this Jazz fella, he used to play for them Miami fish people, the Marlins, I think they’re called. Now he’s gone and got himself traded to the New York Yankees. Big city, big money, that’s what I say! They traded him, like you trade cows or somethin’, but for a whole lot more money, I reckon. Heard it was one of the biggest trades this year, which means someone must think he’s real good at hittin’ that ball or catchin’ it or whatever they do.
- They say he signed a contract for one year.
- And get this, that contract is worth a whole heap of money, somethin’ like six million, seven hundred and seventy thousand dollars!
- That’s six, seven, seven, and a bunch of zeros! Can you imagine? I sure can’t. I ain’t never seen that much money in my whole life.
They say all that money is guaranteed, which means he’s gettin’ it no matter what. That’s what they call a “salary” I think. So, this year, he’s gonna make all that money just for playin’ baseball. Makes my head spin, it does. All that money for hittin’ a ball with a stick.
And it ain’t just for this year, see? They say he’s gonna be up for somethin’ called “arbitration” next year. That sounds fancy, but from what I gather, it just means they gotta figure out how much more money to give him. Seems like these baseball fellas are always wantin’ more money! And then, after that, he can become what they call a “free agent” in 2026. That means he can go play for whoever he wants, and I bet he’ll be lookin’ for even MORE money then.
They say he got hurt or somethin’ and had to take a break, but now he’s back. They even sent another fella down to the minor leagues, whatever that is, just to make room for Jazz. Must be important, I guess. They want him on their team, that’s for sure.
Oh, and I heard somethin’ about this Jazz fella signin’ another contract, not for baseball, but for shoes! Can you believe it? Shoes! This fella named Jordan, or somethin’ like that, is gonna give him money to wear his shoes. And this Roc Nation company, they helped him get the deal. Seems like everyone wants a piece of this Jazz fella.
So, that’s the story, as far as I can tell. This Jazz Chisholm guy got traded to the Yankees, signed a big contract for a whole lotta money, and even got a shoe deal. He’s gonna be rich, that’s for sure. More money than I can even think about. But I hope he’s happy, that’s what matters most. Money ain’t everything, you know. But it sure does help, I reckon.
I still don’t understand why they pay so much for just playing games! But that’s the way it is, I guess. City folks and their ways, they sure are somethin’ else.
