My Journey with Lookman in FC 24
Alright, let me tell you about my little adventure trying to get Ademola Lookman sorted in my FC 24 setup. It wasn’t exactly straightforward, you know?
So, I kept hearing about this guy, Lookman. Noticed he got a few special cards popping up, especially later in the game cycle. Saw some folks online raving about one of his cards, think it was maybe a Team of the Season or something similar. Looked pretty juicy, stats-wise. Pace, dribbling – looked like exactly what my Serie A squad needed on the wing.
Getting Started: The Hopeful Phase
First thing I did, like most of us, was rip open all the saved-up packs I had. You know how it is, hoarding them for a promo and then… nothing. Absolutely zilch. Got a bunch of duplicates, some fodder, but no sign of Lookman. Bit of a downer, that.
Hitting the Market
Okay, packs failed me. Plan B: the transfer market. Fired up the console, searched for his special card. Oof. Pricey. Way more coins than I had sitting around. So, the grind began. Had to play a bunch of Rivals matches, slog through Squad Battles, even did some selling.
- Sold off a few players I wasn’t using anymore.
- Quick sold some consumables I’d piled up.
- Played matches whenever I had spare time, just focusing on getting those coins.
Took a few days, felt like ages. Kept checking his price, hoping it would drop. It bounced around a bit, sometimes higher, sometimes slightly lower. Almost snagged him once when his price dipped, but someone beat me to it. That was annoying.
Finally Getting Him
After what felt like forever, I finally scraped together enough coins. Found one listed at a price I could just about afford. Didn’t even hesitate, just hit ‘Buy Now’. Felt good, man. Like finally catching that fish you’ve been after.
Putting Him to the Test
Slotted him straight into my team, replacing some gold card I’d been using. First few games? Yeah, he felt different. You could tell he had that bit of extra zip. His dribbling felt really tight, could weave through defenders easier than my old winger. His shooting was decent too, managed to bag a couple of goals cutting inside.
Was it Worth It?
Overall, yeah, I think so. The process of getting him was a bit of a pain, typical FC Ultimate Team stuff. Grinding coins, watching the market – it’s part of the game, I guess. But playing with him has been fun. He definitely added something to my attack. Didn’t magically make me a pro player or anything, but he’s solid, does the job well on that left side. Made the grind feel somewhat justified in the end.
