Today I wanna talk about someone I’ve been following in the tennis world – Rajeev Ram. I got curious about his family background, so I did some digging around. Let me tell you what I found out.
First off, I started by looking up who Rajeev Ram actually is. Turns out, he’s a pretty big deal in the professional tennis world. I mean, the guy has won three Grand Slam tournaments! He’s an American player, but I found out his roots go a bit deeper than that.
I learned that his parents are immigrants from India. How cool is that? I found out his family background and his personal life.
- His dad, Raghav Ram, sadly passed away in April 2019. I read a really touching post Rajeev shared about his dad.
- His mom’s name is Sushma, and from what I gathered, half of his dad’s family lives in Bengaluru, while his mom’s side is from North India.
- Rajeev is married to a woman named Zainab.
His Tennis Journey
Then I dug into his tennis career. He was playing tennis since he was four. The guy started out playing for Carmel High School, which is pretty cool since he actually won the Indiana state tennis title there. He eventually made it to the Olympics representing the USA!
Back in 2007, he won five doubles Challenger titles with Bobby Reynolds and even reached three other finals. He got his ranking pretty high up there, No. 62 to be exact, in doubles.
So, yeah, that’s what I found out about Rajeev Ram and his family. It’s always interesting to learn about the people behind the athletes we see on TV. He’s got a pretty inspiring story, starting from Carmel High School and going all the way to the Olympics. And finding out about his Indian heritage just adds another layer to his story.
That’s it, hope you can learn more about Rajeev Ram’s family through my sharing.
