You know that Monopoly Go game? They got this thing called Railroad Rally. It’s like, you play and play and get them points. My grandson, he’s always on his phone playing it. He told me all about it. Says it started April 26, some time late at night, 11:30, I think. And it goes on for a whole day. You can win a lot of them dice things, he says. 14,005, that’s a lot, right?
So, this Railroad Rally thing, it’s like a race. You gotta land on them railroad spots. Then you get points. And if you get enough points, you get prizes. He showed me on his phone, all these prizes lined up. He calls them milestones. He gets excited, I’ll tell ya, for these dice. Youngsters these days and their games.
He was tellin’ me how to get more points. Something about when you’re six, seven, or eight spots away from the railroad, that’s when you should bet more. Says those numbers come up the most. I don’t know about all that, seems like a lot of thinkin’ for a game. And he uses this thing called a multiplier. Some kind of bonus, I guess. Makes the game go faster, maybe? I don’t rightly know. This old brain ain’t what it used to be. But if you pass that Go thing with the multiplier, you get more money. At least, that’s what he tells me.
- Land on them railroad spots, that’s the main thing.
- Get them points, lots of ’em.
- Bet more when you’re close to the railroad.
- Use that multiplier thingy.
- Get more money when you pass Go.
He says this Monopoly Go game is all about luck. You roll them dice and hope for the best. But some folks, they ain’t so lucky. They roll and roll and nothing good happens. My grandson, he gets frustrated sometimes. Throws his hands up and says, “Grandma, I ain’t got no luck!” I tell him, “That’s life, sonny. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.” But he just wants to win at this Railroad Rally thing. He also said this is a solo tournament, I don’t really know what that means, but he likes it.
This whole thing, it’s just a game, you know? But these kids, they take it so serious. Back in my day, we played outside. We didn’t have these fancy phones and games. We made our own fun. But times change, I reckon. I just listen to him talk about it. Keeps him outta trouble, I suppose. And he seems to enjoy it, so that’s somethin’.
This Railroad Rally in Monopoly Go, it’s a big deal for him. He keeps talkin’ about the rewards. He wants to get all them milestones. I don’t know what all he gets, but it makes him happy. That’s all that matters, right? A happy grandson is a good grandson. He tried to explain it all to me, but honestly, it’s a bit much for me to keep up with. He was rattling off numbers and strategies, and my head started to spin. I just nod and smile and let him have his fun.
I remember when he first started playing Monopoly Go. He was so excited to show me how it worked. I tried to play along, but it’s a lot different from the old board game we used to have. This one’s all on the phone, with fancy graphics and sounds. It’s a whole different world, this digital age. But he’s good at it, I’ll give him that. He’s got a knack for these games. He understands all the rules and strategies, even if I don’t.
He keeps telling me about these other events they have in the game, too. It’s not just the Railroad Rally. There’s always something new going on, some new way to earn points and prizes. He’s always chasing after something in that game. I guess it keeps him entertained. And it’s nice to see him so passionate about something, even if it is just a game on his phone.
Sometimes I worry he spends too much time on that phone, though. I tell him he should go outside and get some fresh air. But he just rolls his eyes and says, “Grandma, I’m playing Railroad Rally!” I guess I can’t argue with that. As long as he’s happy, that’s what matters. This Monopoly Go, these days is very popular. All the kids are talking about it. I do hope he gets all the dice he wants. It would make him real happy, I know it.
He keeps saying this Railroad Rally is a limited-time thing. That means it won’t be around forever. So he’s trying to play as much as he can before it’s gone. I told him not to worry too much about it. There will always be other games, other events. But he’s determined to make the most of this one. He’s a good kid, my grandson. He just loves his Monopoly Go. And if this Railroad Rally makes him happy, then I’m happy for him too.
