Okay, so, today I tried this thing called a “detox crossword.” Sounds kinda weird, right? It all started when I was reading some stuff online about how to get rid of toxins in your body. I mean, I’ve been feeling kinda sluggish lately, always tired, and getting these random headaches. Figured maybe it was all the junk I was eating, or maybe just being glued to my screen all day.
I stumbled upon this idea of a digital detox. Basically, taking a break from all the screens – phone, computer, TV, everything. Seemed impossible, to be honest. But I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
So, I decided to go old school. I remembered those crossword puzzles my grandma used to do. Figured that could be a good way to keep my mind busy without staring at a screen. I grabbed a pen and a crossword puzzle book I found lying around the house. I haven’t done one of these in ages!
My “Detox” Journey
- First step, I put my phone on silent and stashed it away in a drawer. Out of sight, out of mind, right? It was tough, I kept reaching for it like a reflex.
- Next, I sat down with the crossword and a cup of tea. I tried green tea this time. It is said to be good for health.
- The crossword was challenging! I had forgotten how tricky these things can be. But it was actually kind of fun. I spent a good hour just working on it, and it felt good to use my brain in a different way.
- I also tried to eat healthier. I ate some vegetables and lean meat today. More protein and fewer carbs.
- After the crossword, I went for a walk outside. Just a short one, but it was nice to get some fresh air and move my body a bit.
Honestly, by the end of the day, I felt…different. Not like a totally new person or anything, but definitely more relaxed. My head felt clearer, and I didn’t have that usual urge to constantly check my phone. I think I slept better that night, too.
I’m not saying I’m going to give up technology completely. That’s just not realistic. But I think taking these little “detox” breaks could be a good thing. It’s like hitting the reset button. Maybe I’ll try to do a crossword a few times a week, or even just go for a walk without my phone. Baby steps, right?
If you’re feeling burnt out or just want to try something different, maybe give this a shot. It’s not a magic cure, but it’s a nice way to unplug and give your mind and body a little break.
