That Genshin Impact, my grandson plays it all the time. He’s always talking about some puzzle, “Shape of Wisdom” or something. Sounds complicated to me. I told him, in my day, we had real puzzles, like figuring out how to get the goat out of the well, or how many jars of pickles we could fit in the cellar. But these kids, they like their fancy computer games.
He was trying to explain it to me once. Something about pillars, I reckon. You gotta move these pillars around, like those stones we used to mark the edge of the field. Except these ones, they light up and make noises and whatnot. He showed me on his little screen, all these bright colors and flashing lights. Gave me a headache, it did.
He said you gotta make some “Shape of Valor”. What in the tarnation is a shape of valor? Back in my day, valor was helping your neighbor raise their barn after a storm, or chasing off a fox that was trying to get at the chickens. It wasn’t about no glowing pillars in a video game. But I guess times change.
There’s some kind of key, too, a “Clockwork Key”. Sounds like something out of one of them fancy clocks that city folks have. The ones with all the gears and cogs. We just had a sundial in the yard. Simple, reliable. You could tell the time as long as the sun was shining. Unless the clouds were coverin it. That was always a bother.
Then he said you gotta hit these pillars multiple times. Now, I don’t know about hitting things. Seems to me like you’re just asking for trouble. Back when I was a girl, if you hit something, it usually meant you were trying to get a nail in straight, or maybe shooing away a pesky fly. But hitting glowing pillars? Just sounds like a good way to break something expensive.
He showed me a picture, said it was a puzzle picture. Looked like a bunch of squiggles to me. I told him, “Boy, if you want a real puzzle picture, you should see the quilt your grandma used to make.” Now that was a puzzle. Pieces of all different shapes and sizes, all sewn together to make something beautiful. This thing on his screen just looked like a mess.
- First, put the key in
- Then, hit those pillars, I guess
- Make the shape, whatever that means
Then somethin about a string you can pull, or you can climb up. Climb what? A tower, maybe? He likes to climb. Good for him to have all that energy, I guess. When I was his age we were too busy working to think about climbing anything just for fun. Or for some “ringing bell” at the top.
And get this, there are these little challenges, like collecting somethin called “Hydro Particles”. Sounds like water to me. Maybe it’s like when we used to collect rainwater in the barrels. Except these particles, they probably glow in the dark or something. Everything in that game glows. It’s like a whole world made out of fireflies.
He said you gotta collect them in order. One, then two, then three, then four. Well, at least that part makes sense. Even in my day, we knew how to count. Although I don’t know what you do with these “Hydro Particles” once you got ’em. Maybe you water some magic beans and grow a beanstalk up to the sky. Who knows with these games.
I heard somethin about a “Treasure of Wisdom”. Sounds important, I suppose. But you know what’s a real treasure of wisdom? Knowing how to make a good stew that’ll feed your family. Knowing how to mend a fence to keep the cows from getting out. Knowing when to plant your crops so they’ll grow strong and tall. That’s wisdom. Not some glowing pillars in a video game.
This Genshin Impact puzzle, this “Shape of Wisdom“, it’s all a bit much for an old lady like me. I’ll stick to my knitting and my garden. Those are puzzles I understand. But the young folks, they love their games. And if it makes them happy, well, I guess that’s all that matters. Just hope he don’t forget the real wisdom, the kind you learn from living life, not from staring at a screen. And that Clockwork Key better not get lost or he’ll never find that Shape of Valor! That’s for sure. If he needs some help, he can come over and move some rocks in the garden. That’s the real shape of wisdom genshin puzzle.
He was talking about some other thing, “Oracle Pillar”. What’s an oracle? Is that like a fortune teller? We used to have one come through town every summer. She’d read your palm for a nickel. Said I’d have a long life and many children. She was right about that, at least. Maybe this “Oracle Pillar” tells you your future in the game. If you complete the picture. That Oracle Pillar’s Picture. I still don’t know.
