Hey guys, so today I got curious about something. We all know Tyreek Hill is crazy fast on the field, right? But I wanted to actually measure how fast he is. You know, put some numbers to it. So, I did a little digging and found some interesting stuff.
First, I started with some basic research. I looked up his 40-yard dash time, which is a standard measure of speed in football. Turns out, his 40 time is a ridiculous 4.29 seconds. That’s blazing fast! I did some quick math, and that translates to roughly 19.07 miles per hour. That’s pretty nuts.
But, I wanted to know his top speed during a game, not just a straight-line run. So I went over to the NFL Next Gen Stats. They have all kinds of cool data on player speeds and movements during games.
- There I found that Tyreek Hill’s fastest recorded speed is a mind-blowing 23.24 miles per hour. I mean, think about that for a second. That’s like, ridiculously fast.
- I also learned that, according to Next Gen Stats, DK Metcalf holds the record as the fastest active player in the NFL, with 22.23 miles per hour. Raheem Mostert hit 23.09 mph during a 2020 game.
- I did see that another player, some rookie named Worthy, was clocked at 18.45 miles per hour on a touchdown run. While that’s not quite Tyreek Hill level, it’s still super impressive.
So, after spending my whole afternoon watching highlight reels and crunching numbers. I can confidently say, Tyreek Hill is seriously one of the fastest players to ever play the game. His speed is just insane. I’m still amazed every time I watch him play.
It was a fun little project to see just how fast these guys are. Makes you appreciate their athleticism even more, you know?
Anyways, that’s all I’ve got for today. Let me know what you think, and if you have any other players you want me to look into. Catch you later!
