Okay, so, let’s talk about this stomach thing I’ve been dealing with, inspired by Gordon Ryan’s recent sharing. I heard he’s been having a rough time with his stomach, and it got me thinking about my own issues.
A few months back, I started noticing some weird stuff going on with my gut. It wasn’t pretty. I’d get these awful cramps, bloating, the whole nine yards. At first, I thought, “No big deal, it’s probably something I ate,” but it kept happening. Like, all the time.
So, I did what any normal person would do, I started messing with my diet. Cut out dairy, tried going gluten-free, even went full-on vegetarian for a while. Nothing was making a difference. It was like my stomach was staging a revolt.
- First, I tried cutting dairy.
- Then, I went gluten-free.
- Even tried a vegetarian diet for a bit.
Then I remembered reading about Gordon Ryan’s problems. This guy is a grappling machine, and even he’s sidelined because of his stomach. It’s crazy, right? It made me realize that this wasn’t just some minor inconvenience, maybe there was something more serious going on.
So I started to read up on his health struggles. He retired from competition because of his long–time gastroparesis condition. I learned that he and his brother didn’t talk for a while after their team split. It’s a mess.
Trying to Figure It Out
I went to see a doctor, and after a bunch of tests, they still couldn’t give me a straight answer. It was frustrating, to say the least. But I wasn’t giving up. I started keeping a food diary, tracking everything I ate and how I felt afterward. It was a pain, but I was determined to get to the bottom of this.
It’s still a work in progress. Some days are better than others. But hearing about Gordon Ryan’s struggles kinda gave me a weird sense of, I don’t know, not being alone? Like, if this top-tier athlete can have these issues, then maybe it’s not so weird that I do too.
It’s a reminder that we all have our battles, even the toughest among us. And sometimes, just talking about it can make a world of difference. So, that’s my story. It’s not over yet, but I’m learning to manage it, one day at a time. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll figure out what’s up with my stomach, just like Gordon Ryan is hopefully working on figuring out his.
