Alright, let’s talk about this Mack Collins fella and them Raiders, you know, the football team. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just a regular person watchin’ the games and hearin’ things.
So, who is this Mack Collins guy anyway? Well, from what I gather, he’s a football player, plays wide receiver I think. He catches the ball, that’s his job. Seems like a strong young man, gotta be to run around like that and get tackled all the time. He went to some high school, Center High, somewhere in Kansas City. Folks say he was good at wrestling too, real tough. I tell ya, these young folks got so much energy. Now, this fella, he got picked by the Raiders a while back, big deal it was. Folks were sayin’ he was the highest picked player from wherever he came from, Buffalo somethin’.
Now, the Raiders, they been a bit of a mixed bag, ain’t they? Sometimes they good, sometimes they… not so good. This year, well, it’s been up and down. They had that bye week, you know, a little break. Folks were sayin’ they got better after that, both on offense, that’s the catchin’ and runnin’ part, and defense, the stoppin’ the other team part.
- The Offense: Well, they got this Davante Adams fella, real good catcher, they say. And Mack Collins, he’s in there too, tryin’ to catch the ball and score, that’s the whole point ain’t it? Sometimes they throw the ball good, sometimes, well, it’s a mess. Seems like the other teams know what they’re gonna do sometimes. They gotta be sneaky, you know, like a fox in the henhouse.
- The Defense: Now this is where it gets tricky. They got this Crosby fella, real strong, and Koonce too, they say he’s getting better. They gotta stop the other team from runnin’ and catchin’, that’s the whole shebang. Sometimes they do good, like that time they forced the other team to just throw the ball, they knew they couldn’t run no more. Other times, well, they let the other team score too easy. They gotta be tough, like a brick wall.
I heard they picked up some new fellas in the draft, some defensive backs, you know, the guys who try to stop the other team from catchin’ the ball. Seventh round, they say. Don’t know if they’re any good, we’ll have to see. Sometimes these young fellas surprise ya. Sometimes they don’t. It’s all a gamble, ain’t it? Like plantin’ seeds in the spring, you never know what you’re gonna get.
This Mack Collins, he seems like a hard worker, you know. I saw a picture of him once, tryin’ to catch the ball, lookin’ real focused. That’s what you need, focus. You can’t be daydreamin’ out there on the field. You gotta be thinkin’ about catchin’ that ball and runnin’ fast. And the Raiders, they gotta be thinkin’ about winnin’. That’s what the fans want, ain’t it? They wanna see their team win, they wanna cheer and holler and have a good time. And if Mack Collins can catch that ball and help them win, well, that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
So, what’s the bottom line? The Raiders are tryin’ to get better. They got some good players, some new players, and they gotta work together. Mack Collins is one piece of that puzzle. He gotta do his job, catch the ball, and the rest of the team gotta do their job too. It’s a team effort, you know, like a bunch of folks workin’ together to build a barn. If they can do that, if they can play like a team, well, maybe they can win some games. And that’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Winnin’. That’s what makes folks happy.
I don’t know what’s gonna happen, nobody does. But I’ll be watchin’, cheerin’ them on, hopin’ for the best. That’s all you can do, ain’t it? Hope and pray. And maybe, just maybe, them Raiders and this Mack Collins fella will surprise us all.
