So I was checking out this boxing event the other day, you know, the one with Munguia. I was mostly interested in the main fight, but I figured I’d watch the whole card because, why not? I’m glad I did, ’cause there were some interesting matchups on the undercard.
First off, they had this fight, Cortes-Suarez, leading up to the main event. It wasn’t the main event, but it was still a pretty big deal, an eight-round televised fight. It was a good warm-up for the main event.
Then there was this other fight they were promoting, Richard Torrez Jr. vs. Joey Dawejko. I didn’t know much about these guys, but I learned that Torrez is a third-generation boxer, which is pretty cool. This fight caught my attention ’cause it’s not every day you see a third-generation boxer. I thought, “Let’s see what this guy’s got.”
Then, there was this Golden Boy Promotions event. They put together the undercard for the Munguia vs. Ryder fight, which had a couple of world championship defenses. That sounded like a big deal, so I made sure to tune in for that.
Oh, and Golden Boy also had another event, the undercard for Munguia vs. Johnson. They called it “highly competitive” and said it featured some of their best “in-house talent.” I don’t know about all that, but I figured I’d give it a watch.
- Cortes-Suarez: This was the co-feature for the main event. It was an eight-round televised fight, a good lead-up to the main show.
- Torrez Jr. vs. Dawejko: Torrez is a third-generation boxer. I had to see what he could do in the ring.
- Munguia vs. Ryder undercard: Golden Boy Promotions put this one together. Two world championship defenses were on the line, so I figured it’d be worth watching.
- Munguia vs. Johnson undercard: Golden Boy said this one was “highly competitive” and featured their best talent. I was curious, so I watched it.
My Findings
Overall, it was a fun night of boxing. The Munguia vs. Bazinyan fight was the main reason I tuned in, and it was good. But the undercard fights, man, they were surprisingly entertaining. I discovered some new fighters to keep an eye on, like that Torrez Jr. guy. And those Golden Boy undercards, they weren’t half bad. It was definitely worth sticking around for the whole card. I gotta say, it was a good experience checking out these fights. I learned a bit about some up-and-coming boxers and saw some decent action.
It is good to know these before the main fight. So, that’s about it, guys! Hope this can help you a little bit before the game starts!
